The Acute Care Unit is a 31‑bed inpatient unit specializing in adult acute care and oncology overflow. Nurses on this unit typically manage a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, offering opportunities to develop critical care skills and strengthen clinical expertise while delivering compassionate, high‑quality care.

• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
• Perform timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Be responsible for completing and revising the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.

• Current Alabama or compact state RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Basic Life Support required.
• ACLS, required within 6 months of hire.
• Experience preferred, but new graduates welcomed to apply.

North Alabama Medical Center opened in 2018 as the replacement facility for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama.
