The Head of Quality, Compliance, Health and Safety is directly responsible for the following essential duties:
QUALITITY ASSURANCE AND COMPLIANCE- Developing, implementing, and administering quality assurance policies and procedures aligned to AS9100 Rev D, FAA and EASA regulatory requirements, and OEM customer specifications.
- Serving as the designated Management Representative for the company's Integrated Management System, with authority to halt any activity that presents an unacceptable risk to product quality, aircraft airworthiness, or personnel safety.
- Maintaining the company's AS9100 certification and managing the interface with the third‑party registrar.
- Maintaining the company's FAA Repair Station and Quality Control Manual in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145, and serving as the primary interface with the FAA Principal Inspector.
- Maintaining the company's OEM special process qualifications for aircraft exterior finishing by aircraft type and facility.
- Planning, conducting, and documenting the internal audit program, and coordinating the company's response to external audits and assessments.
- Managing the full nonconformance and corrective action process, including investigating and responding to customer complaints and quality escapes.
- Managing calibration of measurement and inspection equipment, the inspection stamp issuance program, and work pack inspector qualification for A320 and A220 programs.
- Managing the company's Standard Work Instruction library across all departments, including document control, numbering, compliance auditing, and coordination with Department Heads.
- Preparing quality performance reports and presenting outcomes to site leadership and Group QHSE.
- Monitoring and managing the company's risk register.
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing workplace health and safety programs to prevent workplace injuries and aircraft damage, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, all applicable safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conducting safety surveillance, audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all buildings and the flightline to proactively identify and mitigate hazards to personnel and aircraft.
- Governing aircraft safety practices throughout the painting process — including docking operations, masking integrity, FOD control, chemical handling, and damage response — treating aircraft protection as a safety discipline alongside personnel safety.
- Investigating workplace accidents, incidents, and aircraft damage events to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions; ensuring all OSHA record‑keeping obligations are met.
- Maintaining the company's Health and Safety Manual, all safety policies and procedures, and the site Emergency Response Plan.
- Promoting and strengthening a proactive culture of quality, safety, and risk awareness throughout the organization through training, communication, and employee engagement.
- Driving continuous improvement in safety performance and operational effectiveness through analysis of incident data, near‑miss trends, and audit findings.
TEAM LEADER SHIP
- Conducting induction training for new hires and recurrent training for all staff covering quality, health and safety, hazardous materials, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Managing the company's training programs including records retention and documentation.
- Leading, developing, and performance‑managing direct reports and building quality and safety ownership across all operational departments.
- A thorough knowledge of AS9100 Rev D and demonstrated experience managing a certified Quality Management System as Management Representative or equivalent accountable role.
- A thorough knowledge of inspection routines and protocols in the aviation maintenance, MRO, or painting sectors.
- A thorough knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, with experience managing or interfacing with an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. A valid FAA A&P license is preferred.
- A working knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015, and familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR General Industry standards.
