An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.

Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama’s department of Marine and Environmental Sciences is seeking to hire a Research Technologist II. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.
- Supports the Gulf Scholars Program by recruiting and mentoring students, assisting with reports, supervising field trips, and outreach.
- Supports research by planning and executing fieldwork.
- Analyzes data and writes reports.
- Supervises and participates in collecting, recording, and preparing laboratory specimens and cultures for research experiments.
- Supervises and trains laboratory assistants, research interns, and lower level technical positions.
- May design and direct the construction of research equipment.
- Maintains inventory records of equipment and supplies and initiates purchase orders to replenish supplies.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
