Reports To: Store Manager
The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties, ensuring store goals are achieved. The role involves knowledge of all product areas, upholding company policies, delivering outstanding customer service, promoting merchandise, and assuming supervisory control when the Store Manager is absent.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
- Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and evaluation of personnel.
- Provide guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
- Track inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and meet standards.
- Inform the Store Manager of inventory movements and customer trends.
- Maintain quality customer service.
- Perform general administrative duties as needed.
- Deliver extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
- Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Uphold all company policies and procedures as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, customer service manuals, and memos.
- Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk.
Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems.
Qualifications- Experience in retail, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1–3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and maintain overall goals and profits.
- Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without prompting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask with precision.
- Team‑player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
