Deli Bakery Department Manager

Greer's Markets - 4055 Cottage Hill Road - Responsibilities:
To initiate and/or make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, discipline, promotion and evaluation of Deli Bakery Department personnel;
To orient and train all new Deli Bakery Department associates and retrain associates when necessary;
To develop a fair weekly labor schedule for all Deli Bakery Department associates;
To maintain sales, gross profit and labor projections;
To follow merchandising plan for display/case setup;
To allocate shelf space according to movement, capacity and profitability;
To supervise ordering and merchandising of deli products and supplies from vendors;
To greet customers and respond to questions/complaints;
To ensure health department requirements are upheld;
To supervise department safety and the use of equipment;
To perform miscellaneous tasks for peak periods and substitute for absent workers;
To supervise inventory counting and recording;
To communicate with store manager on problems and merchandising decisions;
To supervise temperature checks and product preparation/display/packaging
