Are you energized by overseeing inventory, warehouse functions, and back-of-house systems that keep the store running smoothly? This might be your dream job! At Alabama Outdoors, we're serious about providing an incredible guest experience - and that starts with a well-run back-of-house operation. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and efficient Operations Manager to oversee all back-of-house responsibilities,
including inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, and e-commerce fulfillment. While this is primarily an operations role, there will be light guest-facing responsibilities when needed to support the sales floor.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of back-of-house operations at the store level. This includes:

  • Managing the receiving, processing, and staging of all new inventory.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely transfers, returns, RTVs, and replenishment.
  • Overseeing e-commerce and store-to-guest fulfillment.
  • Maintaining accurate reporting and communication of inventory needs.
  • Organizing and maintaining all warehouse and backstock areas.

This role is focused on operational excellence and provides only occasional, light support on the sales floor.

Core Responsibility Areas
1. Inventory Management
  • Oversee the receiving, tagging, and staging of all new inventory accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all special orders, transfers, RTVs, and warehouse shipments are processed efficiently.
  • Perform scheduled and on-demand cycle counts with precision and accountability.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies to Lead Operations Manager, Store Support Manager, Buyers, Vendors, Accounts Payable, and Store Leadership as needed.
  • Oversee daily replenishment of inventory from back stock to the sales floor.
  • Ensure returned products are processed, tagged, steamed, or folded and placed back on the floor or sent to the correct location.
2. Warehouse & Back-of-House Operations
  • Organize and maintain all warehouse and backstock storage areas.
  • Manage supply needs and communicate them for ordering.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and efficient storage and work areas.
  • Train and develop team members in all back-of-house processes.
3. E-Commerce & Fulfillment
  • Manage e-commerce orders, charge sends, and store ship-to-customer orders for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure packaging and fulfillment processes meet brand and guest service standards.
  • Monitor and report on e-commerce fulfillment accuracy and timelines.
  • Train team members on e-commerce processing and fulfillment best practices.
Position Attributes
  • Highly organized and detail-driven
  • Efficient in completing and delegating tasks
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple processes at once
  • Excellent communication with consistent follow-up and follow-through
  • Strong technical skills in POS back-end and Excel reporting
  • Ability to coach and train team members in back-of-house functions
  • Position Requirements
    • Experience in retail operations, warehouse management, or inventory control
    • Previous supervisory experience in back-of-house or logistics preferred
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
    • Proficient in Excel and POS back-end systems for reporting, tracking, and operational needs
    • Excellent communication and follow-through skills
    • Ability to lift or move up to 50-pound boxes or racks
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time
