Job Title
Sales Representative
Job SummarySales Representatives must be extremely reliable and trustworthy. They should work independently and have excellent communication skills. They need aptitude for establishing and maintaining sales volume, product mix, and selling price. They keep current with supply, demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Responsibilities- Identify revenue opportunities within customers’ communities through communications, programs, and other activities.
- Prospect, qualify, and generate sales within the company’s established clientele and partners.
- Ensure suspect identification, planning, account qualification, and needs analysis at all prospect levels.
- Contact prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualify, and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
- Work closely with sales support, management, and business developers to identify and close additional purchases of products and services.
- Respond to requests from customers for information and give onsite presentations.
- Remain knowledgeable and up to date on changes and developments in the B2B sales industries.
- Keep management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, businesses, and the community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness and in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Order processing systems, and Contact Management systems.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out‑of‑the‑area and overnight travel may be expected.
- Completes additional tasks and assignments as requested by the Regional Sales Director.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Regular business hours; some additional hours may be required.
- Travel requirements:
Domestic up to 20%. - Climate‑controlled office environment during normal business hours.
- Sitting – up to 7 hours a day.
- Lifting – up to 0.5 hours a day, up to 50 lbs max.
- Walking – up to 2 hours a day.
- Pushing/Pulling – up to 0.5 hours a day, up to 50 lbs max.
- Standing – up to 4 hours a day.
- Climbing – up to 0.5 hours a day.
- Bending/Squatting/Stooping – up to 1 hour a day.
- Stairs – up to 0.5 hours a day.
- Reaching – up to 2 hours a day.
- Twisting – up to 1 hour a day.
- Ladder, Balancing, Step stool, Crawling, Excessive heat or cold exposure, Hands in water, Dust exposure, Humidity exposure – not applicable generally.
- Data Entry/Typing – up to 4 hours a day.
- Kneeling – up to 1 hour a day.
- Other physical demands – employees should not attempt to lift, pull, or push a load exceeding 50 lbs without assistance. Care should always be taken when lifting, punching, or pulling in an awkward position.
