HVAC Service Sales Rep

Responsible for initiating, building, and maintaining profitable service relationships with customers across a defined geographic territory.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate, establish and build profitable service relationships between new customers and Johnson Controls.
  • Sell renewable maintenance agreements as the key building block for establishing relationships.
  • Work within an assigned geographic territory, collaborating with local branch offices and sales/operations professionals.
  • Use sales tools to plan, document progress, and increase business opportunities in current accounts.
  • Obtain and close business on a monthly basis.
  • Identify, target and qualify prospective new customers; uncover leads and contacts through networking.
  • Contact prospective customers, schedule appointments, and build a referral network.
  • Conduct sales calls to identify key sources of problems and/or dissatisfaction for Facility Directors.
  • Propose solutions focused on renewable maintenance agreements, digital service offerings, sustainability and decarbonization.
  • Understand the customer’s business and speak their language.
  • Review and finalize proposals, securing commitment to Johnson Controls solutions.
  • Conduct customer kick‑off meetings, resolve issues, create pull‑through opportunities, maintain and extend service agreements, and support collections.
  • Keep management informed of progress and account status using  and other tools.
  • Develop and implement territory marketing plans consistent with business strategy.
  • Attend trade shows, present, and participate in professional organizations.
  • Represent Johnson Controls professionally, conducting business with quality, integrity and performance.
Qualifications
  • Previous progressive sales experience.
  • Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.
  • Enviable presentation skills and ability to captivate in both individual and group communications.
  • Aptitude for technical knowledge with high attention to detail.
  • Experience selling service and intangibles.
  • Knowledge of building HVAC systems.
  • Experience with
  • Post‑secondary education.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $55,000‑92,000, based on education, experience, and skills.
