The New Business Development Manager is responsible for managing the sales process and advancing profitable growth within an assigned market area for new Airgas customers. The successful candidate will build and nurture relationships and provide solutions to new customers, using technology to enhance effectiveness.
- Develop and implement sales plans to obtain orders and establish new accounts.
- Qualify and connect with sales leads.
- Nurture customer relationships by developing a thorough understanding of the business and establishing a consultative relationship.
- Prepare sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimating delivery dates based on Airgas production and delivery schedules.
- Stay informed of industry trends and marketplace intelligence, including pricing, products, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with internal resources to achieve success milestones and maintain clear communication with internal departments.
- Maintain and submit sales reports as requested by District Manager through SAP.
- Actively review and manage Accounts Receivable balances to protect working capital and reduce financial risk.
- Reliable transportation and current driver’s license.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Google Suites.
- Knowledge of customer segmentation and ability to prioritize high‑value targets.
- Proven success using a consultative sales approach in solution‑selling environments.
- Deep knowledge of customer business and market trends to identify new opportunities.
- Minimum of 3 years of outside B2B sales experience, including proven success in solution‑selling and managing a defined sales territory.
- Experience with industrial and specialty gases or industrial gas & welding supply sales.
- SAP experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4 years) of work experience.
