Position Summary

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and service work on residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. Communicates with customers for satisfaction. Promotes products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform service and maintenance calls on residential and light commercial equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve customer problems courteously and accurately
  • Service heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and accessories
  • Inspect equipment and perform diagnostics to prevent breakdowns
  • Complete routine maintenance and cleaning as needed
  • Deliver and remove parts and equipment for service work
  • Record all required information on a hand‑held device; complete all forms and paperwork accurately
  • Communicate with dispatch for status reporting
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high satisfaction levels
  • Promote products and services; call Sales and Service Coordinator with replacement product leads
  • Maintain company property, vehicles, and tools properly
  • Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically
  • Follow standard procedures; order and replenish vehicle stock as needed
  • Perform similar duties as needed or assigned

  • Report unsafe acts and hazards immediately to supervisor/manager
  • Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control
  • Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed
  • Never remove or render ineffective safety guards, devices, or clothing prescribed
  • Comply with general rules as prescribed by company program(s)
  • Operate devices or equipment as prescribed by company program(s)
  • Participate in any safety initiatives, teams, or committees
  • Report all injuries or incidents immediately
  • Provide input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposure
  • Do not perform acts that endanger safety or well‑being of others
  • Do not engage in any pranks, contests, or rough boisterous behavior
  • Work in compliance with applicable legislative requirements

Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years HVAC experience and technical training certification
  • Valid licensing or certification as required by local regulations
  • EPA and safety certifications required
  • Skilled at servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and tool operation
  • Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
  • Proficient at balancing airflow, aligning belts and pulleys, and installing duct fittings
  • Effective communication skills with customers
  • Time‑management and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Available to work flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed
  • Ability to stand, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces; lift up to 75 lbs; carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, humid, slippery, heights)
  • Natural vision for close and distance focus with normal depth perception
