Overview
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician to install, program, commission, and service HVAC and BAS control systems in commercial and institutional facilities. This hands-on, field-based role is ideal for a technician experienced with Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric platforms who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems and working independently across diverse projects.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and electricians to ensure system reliability, operational efficiency, and accurate documentation. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced building automation systems while continuing to develop technical expertise in controls integration and HVAC automation.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, and commission BAS devices, HVAC controllers, and networked control systems
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric platforms
- Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, and Lon Works protocols
- Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on BAS equipment
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and electricians to ensure successful installations
- Document as-built modifications and prepare commissioning and service reports
- Provide technical support, system walk-throughs, and basic user training
- Assist with system retrofits, upgrades, and BAS integration projects as needed
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in BAS or HVAC controls installation, programming, or service
- Demonstrated expertise with Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric BAS platforms
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control strategies, and building automation concepts
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, riser diagrams, and submittals
- Experience with low-voltage wiring, terminations, and communication networks
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
