Scaffold Builder- Austin Industrial; McIntosh, AL

Rate: $24 USD per hour

The role is for an experienced Scaffold Builder stationed in McIntosh, AL
. The incumbent will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures, and perform additional duties as assigned.

• Work at heights safely and confidently.
• Bring basic hand tools to site.
• Determine the type of scaffold needed.
• Transport tubular scaffold or other structural material and erect the scaffold as instructed.
• Hoist scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structures.
• Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Secure scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adhere to all OSHA, site‑specific, and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating the scaffold.
• Dismantle scaffolding when directed.
• Inspect and properly store scaffolding material after dismantling.
• Perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Other duties as assigned.

Employees regularly sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting and moving up to 25 lbs is frequent; 50 lbs may also be required. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to adjust focus.

• Strong mechanical, numerical, and verbal aptitude.
• Basic math, problem solving, and computer skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Scaffold Builder certification preferred, or at least 5 years’ experience as a Scaffold Builder in an industrial setting.
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Rate: $24 USD per hour.
