About the Role
This role focuses on performing system commissioning, troubleshooting HVAC systems, and ensuring efficient building operations for customers.
ResponsibilitiesPerform assigned system commissioning using configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Respond to basic warranty calls. Provide high-level service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. Provide solutions and outcomes as a trusted advisor at the time of service.
How You Will Do It- Load system-level controller software.
- Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators). Complete all required commissioning documentation.
- Keep management, JCI contractor, or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
- Communicate with JCI contractor or customer on arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follow safety standards and attend required training, ensuring employee and subcontractor safety.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure efficient facility operation, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or a similar field; or at least two years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and outside contacts professionally.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people. Leadership skills to support mechanics on non‑critical Building Automation equipment jobs.
- Proficient PC experience and ability to program HVAC-related software.
Hourly rate: $25–$34, based on education, experience, skills, and market data. Competitive benefits package is included.
