Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician to maintain and repair a fleet of heavy industrial equipment at our Mobile, Alabama site. The role requires independent diagnosis of complex mechanical and hydraulic problems, high‑quality repairs, and keeping critical equipment running safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy industrial and mobile equipment.
- Maintain and repair equipment including front‑end loaders, material handlers, forklifts, and skid steers.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, hoses).
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime.
- Identify root causes of failures and implement long‑term solutions.
- Repair or replace components such as engines, bearings, pumps, seals, hydraulic components, and mechanical assemblies.
Required
- 5+ years as a heavy equipment or industrial maintenance mechanic.
- Experience with front‑end loaders, material handlers, forklifts, skid steers, or similar equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in hydraulic systems.
- Experience diagnosing mechanical failures and performing complex repairs.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems for work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred
- Diesel engine experience.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience supporting spare parts or maintenance inventory systems.
- Experience in industrial, recycling, construction, or material handling environments.
- Full‑time, year‑round.
