Vehicular​/Equipment Mechanic Trainee

Overview

Semi-skilled automotive maintenance and repair work requiring increasing skill levels while training to perform at the journeyman level for Vehicular/Equipment Mechanic.

Salary:
Mobile County $41,469 - $66,295;
City of Mobile $36,716 - $58,696;
City of Bayou La Batre $32,112 - $51,337;
Mobile Area Water and Sewer Systems $40,458 - $64,679.

• Graduation from a standard senior high school with completion of a high school trade program in vehicular/equipment repair and maintenance, or high school graduation, or successful completion of the GED test, and a minimum of one year related training or experience in semi-skilled vehicular/equipment repair and maintenance activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license from state of residence and obtaining commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements, including air brake endorsement, to be eligible for promotional consideration.
• One year related training or experience; or equivalent education/experience.
• Knowledge of routine automotive servicing and maintenance (see application details).
