Job Description

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight line Mechanic A220 to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The Flight line Mechanic is responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection to prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This includes operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. Proficiently operate and understand a wide variety of test equipment and tooling.

Must be able to interpret technical manuals, drawings and engineering data to support tasks. Complete assigned tasks within the allocated man-hour budget and meet the guidelines of safety regulations, on quality and on cost.

Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft system Final Test Procedure (FTP), Pre/Post flight checklist, Daily Inspection (DI) to prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness.
  • Learn new tasks and techniques to troubleshoot aircraft systems and support Flight line operations.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, rigs, repairs, replacement aircraft structures, components and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty.
  • Maintain and rework aircraft components, including but not limited to landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems, mechanical and cabin interior components.
  • Serve, repair and prepare documentation in accordance with company procedure and specifications.
  • Perform Post dock maintenance daily checklist, safety and security, incoming inspection.
  • Perform day‑to‑day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance.
  • Participate actively in the development and improvement of system troubleshooting skills.
  • Have prior experience with Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack and Tow and other miscellaneous aircraft services, including handling hazardous material policy.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical/Mechanical theory and knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators, micrometers and powered/non‑powered support equipment.
  • Perform a variety of operations in preparing, sealing and testing aircraft using a thorough knowledge of all aircraft sealing techniques.
  • Read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in process improvement, root cause analysis, 5S and all applicable tools for improving workload, quality, safety and reducing cycle time.
  • Participate in team daily SQCDP project and daily tool / FOD management.
  • Be able to work in confined spaces, at heights and outdoors under varying environmental conditions.
  • Support and train other aircraft technicians with technical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or repair environment.
  • Valid A&P License.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Willingness to work rotational shift schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Valid passport that allows unrestricted travel to Canada.
  • High School Diploma / Vocational / Tech School Credential.
  • 3+ years experience in a flight‑line environment under FAA/EASA/TCCA Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken, written, influencing, proficiency in other languages).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills sufficient to prepare reports and discuss equipment malfunction.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow manual instructions to solve complex mechanical problems.
  • Basic computer skills: email, Google, data entry. Technical systems proficiency to read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts and schematics.
