- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service HVAC control systems to ensure building efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Programming, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on HVAC controls systems (mechanical, electrical & low voltage components).
- Respond to service and warranty calls using JCI software, configuration tools, and testing equipment.
- Provide frontline repair support and clear technical communication to customers.
- Deliver system repair & upgrade recommendations while assisting in solution proposals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by solving inefficiencies and recommending solutions in real-time.
- Load and configure Johnson Controls field & network-level controller software.
- Perform commissioning & diagnostics on system controllers and end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.).
- Calibrate systems with standard electronic test equipment.
- Document changes, update as-built documentation, and complete commissioning reports.
- Communicate effectively with management, contractors, and customers on project progress and issues.
- Execute ongoing training (company-sponsored & self-directed) to stay at the top of your field.
- Provide recommendations, quotes, and upsell opportunities to ensure customer facilities run at peak efficiency.
- Uphold the highest safety standards on every project site.
Required Qualifications
- Controls experience is required.
- Completion of a vocational school (4-year program) or Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical systems, Computer technology, Air conditioning, or 2+ years of industry experience servicing HVAC electronic/mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequences, and applications.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical & electro-mechanical fields.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (multimeter).
- Solid knowledge of personal computer applications.
- High attention to detail, with strong communication & listening skills.
