Job Overview
Field-based installation and servicing of building automation systems for Trane Technologies. Work is conducted on-site at customer locations and may involve occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities- Install temperature control systems, including conduit, enclosures, wiring, and end devices, using hand tools and interpreting control drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Prepare for on-site installation by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating with other trades.
- Maintain assigned inventory, company equipment, and documentation of all related activities.
- Document work by completing daily time, progress, and duration paperwork and maintaining files.
- Serve as the direct customer contact and provide servicing of products and equipment on assigned projects.
- Diagnose and repair equipment and systems at customer locations, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Keep current on Trane products concerning the installation of direct digital control systems.
- Inspect and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment, recording service manuals, repairs, and maintenance records.
- Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company‑issued assets.
- Travel frequently, including occasional overnight stays, and be willing to work overtime and during weekends as needed.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Technical school or formal training is preferred.
- Typically 2–5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls.
- Electrical and/or mechanical experience welcomed.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computer (e.g., smartphone, iPad).
- Knowledge of low voltage electricity, electronics (board‑level troubleshooting), direct digital controls, and building control techniques.
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
- Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred.
Yes. May require additional drug screening.
CompensationHourly pay range: $22.59 – $30.67. Compensation depends on seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation. No sales commission or incentive eligibility.
