minimum qualification requirements: graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the general educational development (ged) test, completion of a trade school or apprenticeship program in electrical work and a minimum of one year journeyman level electrical experience; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

special requirements: must possess a journeyman electrician certificate from the board of electrical examiners; mobile area water and sewer system requires a master electrician certificate. Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence. May be required to possess a commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements, including air brake endorsement, if applicable.
