Avionics Mechanic – Aircraft Maintenance & Electrical Systems
Sirius Staffing is seeking multiple Avionics Mechanics
to support a leading aerospace and defense operation in Mobile, Alabama. These are night shift opportunities supporting aircraft electrical and avionics systems maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, installations, and repairs in a fast-paced aviation environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong aircraft avionics and electrical systems experience looking to join a stable, safety-focused team supporting advanced aviation programs.

Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including worn or defective assemblies, components, and systems
- Conduct operational and functional checks on navigation, communication, instrumentation, flight control systems, and pitot static installations
- Troubleshoot, repair, rework, and modify malfunctioning components or assemblies; determine when to repair or replace components and decide the necessary repair scheme and parts needed
- Install, modify, fabricate, and perform installation of wiring harnesses, avionics equipment, and electrical/electronic systems, components, and assemblies in aircraft
- Interpret avionics/electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, wire identification, connectors, circuits, cable assemblies, coax cables, and fittings
- Perform serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using OEM-specified test equipment
- Set up and operate ground support and test equipment for diagnostics and functional tests
- Interpret flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems
- Use diagnostic and testing equipment for electrical/electronic systems
- Complete maintenance documentation and work packages accurately, with sign-off after finishing all designated operations
- Follow approved maintenance procedures, consulting internal procedures and FAA-approved technical data
- Suggest improvements to processes and procedures
- Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed
- Advise operators and line mechanics on safe procedures for working with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment; inform management of potential problems and inherent dangers
- Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting; assist and train other maintenance/technical employees
- Maintain all hangar and shop tools and equipment in serviceable condition
- Ensure the assigned work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards to personnel and aircraft
- Follow all FAA and OSHA safety regulations and precautions (hearing/eye protection, chemical use, engine/propeller hazards, fall protection, etc.)
- Keep safety-of-flight in the forefront at all times; work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior avionics and aircraft maintenance experience required
- 3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics with the ability to demonstrate proficiency
- Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical and electronic systems, including digital avionics equipment; ability to inspect and install digital avionics equipment
- Experience reading and interpreting avionics/electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire identification, harness fabrication, cables, fittings, circuits, and connectors; experience with wiring harness fabrication, connectors, circuits, and troubleshooting
- Ability to use diagnostic and testing equipment for electrical/electronic systems; thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and safely while ensuring quality workmanship with high precision and minimum tolerances
- Must be safety-conscious and able to work in a constant state of alertness in a team environment
- Physical requirements:
regularly required to stand; use hands/fingers to handle or feel, talk or hear, good visual abilities; often required to sit, climb, balance, and work in close quarters; able to lift or help lift up to 50 pounds when required - Must be able to read, write, and understand English proficiently to read manuals, schematics, and technical informati

- FCC 2nd Class License preferred but not required
- Experience with turboprop aircraft preferred
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Potential domestic and international travel up to 10%
- Must be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship now and/or in the future
- This is asafety-sensitive position; all FAA compliance requirements must be followed
- Participate in on-the-job training as required
