As a Technician II at Penske, you are a respected technician. You work independently performing major and minor repairs, diagnosing problems with road tests, completing maintenance tasks, and informally mentoring new technicians while growing your skills.

Work Location2405 Perimeter Rd, Mobile, AL 36615
Work ScheduleCandidate must work first shift from 6am to 2pm. Schedules may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Shift Differentials- Second shift ($2.00 starting after 11am)
- Third shift ($3.00 starting after 9pm)
- Weekend shift ($2.00 Saturdays and Sundays regardless of start time)
- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
- Perform preventive maintenance on truck and trailer equipment independently and timely
- Repair and troubleshoot components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
- Keep the work area clean and safe
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training
- Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

- Location and schedule flexibility
- 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Valid driver’s license required
- Problem‑solving ability
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Teamwork orientation
- Willingness to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions
- Basic computer skills
- Compliance with Penske safety, DOT, and OSHA policies, including PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices
- Regular, predictable, full attendance required
- DOT regulated driving requirement, including maintaining a driver qualification file, DOT Physical, MVR check, and FMCSA review for CDL holders
- Willingness to travel within the district, work required schedule and location, and pass background and drug screening
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands daily to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
- Work safely in all weather conditions
- See and hear effectively to navigate the workplace with moving trucks
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push/pull truck tires that exceed 100 lbs
