HVAC Truck Journeyman Mechanic; union

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Work on light commercial and heavy commercial HVACR equipment, including centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers.
• Troubleshoot, repair and service commercial HVAC units such as rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers and compressors.
• Use mechanical shaft alignment tools, vibration equipment and other diagnostic instruments.
• Provide solutions, recommendations and quotes to customers during commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring facilities run efficiently and identifying upselling opportunities.

• Minimum of three (3) years of commercial/industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing.
• Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry.
• Willingness to travel 10% to 20% to support branch customers.
• Required to pass a knowledge examination and obtain a Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, digital and written communication skills.
• Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply knowledge on the job.

• Hourly rate of $35.20, determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
