Commercial Electrician

We are hiring Commercial Electricians that are currently licensed journeyman in the state of Alabama.

Must pass a 10 panel drug test.

Description:

This position is responsible for performing electrical wiring duties in a commercial/industrial/institutional setting with relatively little supervision. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, installing conduit and cable tray, coordinating and setting up large cable pulls, installing switch gear, distribution panels, transformers, fire alarm and control systems, and other electrical gear, and performing other electrical duties related to general construction operations.

Will be working with duct banks and underground. Must have basic electrician tools; workers without tools will be sent home.

Pay Rate Range:

$30.00 an hour to $35.00 an hour. Pay is based on skill level.

Electrician Job Description & Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, circuit diagrams, and other technical documents.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical components, equipment, or systems, to ensure proper functioning – may require working from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs.
• Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings using hand and power tools.
• Place conduit, pipes, or tubing inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduits or ducts to complete circuits between boxes.
• Perform installation on low voltage systems, electronic fire alarm systems, pull stations, strobes, horns, detectors, exit signs and other related building system products.
• Construct or fabricate parts using hand tools according to specifications.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduits or moving or lifting heavy objects.
• Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools.
• Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts and reassemble equipment using hand tools.
• Direct work of employees with less experience and assist these individuals as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Speak, Read and Write English.
• Journeymen and foremen with at least 5 years of experience in the position.
• Must be available to work 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday at minimum.
• PPE and own basic tools required for the trade.
• Reliable transportation.
• Good attitude and ability to work well with others.
