Position
Reports To:
Fit Out Supervisor
- Perform all tasks associated with Trades Assistant status dealing with prefab accommodation cabins, toilet blocks, and various compartments.
- Mark out, create cutting lists, blocking and bracketing, and install bulkheads and side linings.
- Install various types of furniture using blueprints.
- Layout and install ceiling ramps and tiles according to drawings.
- Hang internal fitout doors, including locks and hold backs.
- Layout and install all types of external fitout items.
- Assist in building and installing pads.
- Assist in installing metal and run straight pipe coverings and lay out.
- Layout and shoot pins.
- Measure, cut, and install ducts.
- Drill holes in accordance with drawings.
- Install dampers, valves, and diffusers.
- Understand the principals of interior painting and accomplish same.
- One year of marine or equivalent construction experience, or two years of marine experience or equivalent construction experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cabinet making, carpentry, industrial insulation, HVAC, and mechanical drawing reading.
- Basic mechanical skills and trades mathematics.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.

- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of application.
- Must be able to provide proof of US Person Status.
- No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date.
- No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date.
- Willing to submit to a drug screen.
- Willing to submit to a background check.
- Must be able to tour all vessels and work sites.
- Must stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit occasionally.
- Must lift/push/pull 50lbs to 75lbs occasionally, up to 20lbs frequently.
- Must climb safely (stairs, scaffolding, ladders, ramps). Work at heights above 12’.
- Work at various levels; use personal protective equipment.
- Must withstand cold and hot temperatures; enter confined spaces.
- Must respond to verbal and audible commands and have adequate visual skills.
The work environment includes humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, outside weather, extreme heat, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise levels.
