Industrial Services Technician I
We are hiring an Industrial Services Technician I for a hands-on role in an industrial shop environment located in Theodore, Alabama. This position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, enjoy working with tools, and want to gain experience in equipment repair, refurbishment, assembly, inspection, finishing, and related industrial service work. You will collaborate with experienced technicians and site leadership to complete customer projects safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Each project offers unique challenges, so we seek someone who can learn quickly, follow instructions, prioritize safety, and adapt where needed.
- Assemble, disassemble, inspect, repair, refurbish, and restore industrial equipment and components.
- Perform mechanical repairs, component replacement, basic troubleshooting, and equipment upgrades.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and shop equipment safely.
- Support surface preparation, grinding, sanding, sandblasting, painting, coating, and packaging.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other approved material handling equipment.
- Inspect completed work and maintain accurate production documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA, EHS, Lockout/Tagout, and PPE requirements.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe.
- Work with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to meet customer requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial repair and refurbishment processes.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and basic technical documentation.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment with changing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Preferred experience includes manufacturing, industrial maintenance, mechanical assembly, equipment repair, fabrication, or related trades.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or rigging experience is a plus.
- Industrial painting, sandblasting, coatings, or refurbishment experience is advantageous.
- Experience with renewable energy, aerospace, defense, or other industrial equipment is preferred.
- OSHA 10 or other industrial safety certifications are a plus.
- Pay Rate: $20 - $25 per hour
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
