Are you mechanically inclined and interested in gaining hands-on experience in the aerospace industry? Vartan Aero is an aircraft product support service provider seeking a Field Service Mechanic Intern to join our team.

This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience while working alongside experienced Field Service Mechanics. The intern will assist with aircraft interior rework, repairs, modifications, and other technical activities while learning Vartan and customer processes, quality standards, and work requirements.

• Assist with mechanical and cosmetic rework of non-conformities, adjustments, replacements, and calibrations.
• Install, file, sand, paint, and perform other work involving decorative laminate (“declam”).
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems
• Assist with replacing electrical connectors, terminal lugs, and wires
• Apply requested modifications under appropriate supervision
• Accurately document completed rework
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
• Assist with creating work instructions based on engineering blueprints
• Communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
• Support customer flight activities when requested
• Follow all applicable safety, quality, customer, and company procedures

• High school diploma or equivalent, trade certificate or technical training is a plus
• Mechanical aptitude and an interest in aviation or a related technical field
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable and able to work independently and/or as part of a team
• Ability to follow drawings, work instructions, and instructions provided by experienced team members
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to meet applicable customer badging, background check, and drug-screening requirements
• Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and work stand unassisted
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop in confined spaces
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• Must be willing to work in an environment subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels
• Ability to work more than an 8-hour shift when needed

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a trade, technical, aviation maintenance, or related program
• Technical/mechanical experience or training such as A&P coursework, automotive mechanics, cabinetmaking, electrical work, or comparable hands-on experience
• Basic experience reading technical drawings or blueprints
• Previous work experience demonstrating reliability and commitment
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
• Interest in pursuing a career in the aerospace industry
