About the RoleThe Class A CDL Driver is a vital position within our logistics team, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across designated routes. The driver will perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness, manage delivery schedules, and communicate with dispatch for optimal route planning. The role requires strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies while ensuring efficient and effective deliveries.
This is a safety‑sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others.
- Quarterly regional raffle: $1,000 per region
- Annual regional raffle: $5,000 prizes (4 winners)
- Annual Apex winner: $10,000 prize
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Experience with long‑haul driving
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Previous experience in a logistics or transportation role
- Deliver goods using 30‑45' open‑top dump trailers (combination vehicles) across a regional footprint
- Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles in compliance with DOT, local, state, and federal laws
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections
- Use hand tools for basic repairs of company bins and equipment
- Maintain overall cleanliness of equipment
- Use electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and other required records
- Maintain paperwork (contamination and service tickets, truck maintenance, etc.) and submit all documentation to the appropriate party
- Communicate regularly with customers and vendors to ensure seamless operations
- Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the safety manager
- Work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 50 hours a week
- Attend and participate in weekly safety calls, training, or briefings
- Use computer and cell phone for training, communication, and expense management
- Valid Class CDL‑A in state license (Preferred)
- Valid Class B with grapple truck experience or willingness to train
- Time management and ability to maintain route consistency
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in operating manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Experience using an electronic logging system, such as People Net
- Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus
- Basic computer and cell phone knowledge
- English proficiency sufficient for public interaction, sign reading, and record entries
- Age 21 and over
- Current DOT medical card
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and with a clean MVR
- Road test pass
- Live in the defined hiring area and willing to park at the approved area
- No DUI/DWI conviction in a commercial or personal vehicle, and no DOT drug/alcohol violation in the past 3 years
- Regularly lift, pull, push, or handle up to 70 pounds, including bending, stooping, twisting, shoveling, or reaching overhead
- Manage unpleasant odors from food waste/farms
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Class A CDL License (self-certified as a Non‑Excepted Interstate driver with the state of issuance)
- Clean MVR and PSP
- At least 23 years of age with minimum 2 years of full‑time verifiable tractor‑trailer experience, or 21 years of age with 1 year of experience (or equivalent training)
