Driver Class A​/Hazmat​/Tanker

Clean Harbors in Theodore, AL is seeking a Class A CDL Driver / Hazmat / Tanker - Equipment Operation to operate heavy and light duty trucks and equipment at customer sites. The role includes driving and non-driving duties associated with hazardous waste clean-up.

• New hires must attend a two-week Academy (paid) training, which may be out of state. Company covers expenses.

• Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Perform manual labor on site to fulfill customer needs.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements.
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and reports.
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and other regulations.
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
• Perform site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Perform physical functions required by the job.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical examination.
• Meet facial hair standards for respirator use under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.34.

• Commercial driver experience.
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Previous manual labor experience.
