Production Operator / CDL A Driver

The production operator will contribute to the cylinder requalification, filling, and repair process and, with the aid of material handling equipment, assist in moving industrial gas cylinders to different areas of the plant and supporting the loading/unloading of cylinders from delivery trucks. As a representative of Airgas, the delivery driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers.
Using a company-provided Tractor Trailer, microbulk truck and CDL B truck you will help bridge the gap between our plant and our valued customers.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
- Work with a forklift to move materials.
- Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders and supplies.
- Nurture courteous and professional relationships with customers.
- Ensure deliveries are made in a timely manner.
- Safely secure and unstrap cylinders for transport.
- Make deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart; this is a physically active role that keeps you moving throughout the day.
- Drivers will frequently exit their vehicle as part of their active routine.
- Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT (or ability to obtain within 60 days from hire date) and Airbrake endorsements.
- Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card and endorsements.
- No more than two traffic convictions or two at‑fault accidents in the last three years, or a combination of one conviction and one at‑fault accident.
- No driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven years.
- Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment.
- Ability to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
- At least one year of CDL driving experience within the last five years, or proof of a certificate of completion from a trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
- Forklift experience.
