** The Theodore Location of Dixie Building Supply is in need of an additional Forklift Operator available immediately!  This location of Dixie Supply is a Hardware Store and Lumberyard location only.  There is no manufacturing performed at this location; however, it is a popular pick-up location!

* Job Summary:

** The Lumberyard Attendant is responsible for assisting customers with loading and unloading lumber and building materials, maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the yard, and safely operating equipment such as forklifts. This role ensures that materials are properly stored, stocked, and prepared for delivery or pickup.

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Assist customers in locating, selecting, and loading lumber and building materials.
* Receive, unload, and stock shipments of lumber and other materials.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and storage area.
* Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
* Check and verify materials against invoices or delivery slips.
* Prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery.
* Inspect materials for damage or quality issues and report any discrepancies.
* Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
* Provide friendly and helpful service to customers and co-workers.
* Perform regular yard maintenance, including sweeping, snow removal, and minor repairs.  
** Responsibilities:**
* * Transport materials between various locations within the yard and loading areas.*
* * Assist delivery drivers with loading trucks*
* * Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate material handling and deliveries.*
* * Handle and organize materials in the yard as production is completed*
* * Perform regular inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts and equipment to ensure safe operation.*
* * Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.*
* * Performs other related duties as assigned.*## Qualifications###

* Qualifications:

*** High school diploma or GED (preferred).
* Previous experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, or similar environment (preferred).
* Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
* Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Basic math and measurement skills.
