Job SummaryThe Service Cashier supports the Service Department by processing point-of-sale transactions for service repairs, parts, and accessories. This role handles cash and electronic payments, assists guests as they move through the service experience, and helps keep the lobby running smoothly in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process payments by cash, check, and credit/debit card.
- Issue receipts, credits, and change.
- Assist customers with questions and provide a welcoming, helpful experience.
- Use the dealership management system (DMS) to ring sales and close repair orders.
- Greet customers as they enter the Service lobby.
- Keep the cashier area organized, clean, and guest-ready.
- Use the paging system to notify advisors or request support.
- Count the cash drawer at the start of the shift and reconcile totals at close.
- Sort and wrap currency and coins for daily deposits.
- Post charges to house accounts when needed.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by management.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Comfortable handling cash and electronic transactions with accuracy.
- Clear verbal communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent in daily attendance.
- Able to stay organized and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic computer skills; DMS or POS experience is helpful but not required.
