Salary: Hourly range $78.15 to $124.94 Certified Part‑time Instructor/Overload Hourly Salary Schedule). Doctorate range $92.09 to $128.22. Part time faculty office hours paid flat rate $30 per hour.
Benefits: Not eligible for benefits (except Workers’ Compensation coverage).
Position is Part‑time faculty on “as needed” basis up to 12 months. The role is within the Fire Technology department.

Columbia College, foothills of the Sierra Nevada in California’s historic Motherlode Gold Country, covering Tuolumne County, part of Calaveras County, and Stanislaus County.

Position SummaryThe instructor will provide lecture and/or laboratory instruction, evaluate student progress, advise academically, and perform related duties. The goal is to create student‑responsive curriculum that supports equity and increases completion.
Responsibilities- Teach lower‑division college courses in Fire Technology (may include online, evening, Saturday).
- Advance equitable student learning through exemplary instruction per course outlines.
- Inform students of course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance expectations.
- Prepare and grade assignments and examinations, communicate academic progress.
- Maintain attendance, scholastic, and other records; submit per policies and deadlines.
- Develop, implement, and assess student‑learning outcomes; use results for improvement.
- Engage in data inquiry and self‑assessment to develop strategies for student success, persistence, and equity.
- Participate in professional development activities to fulfill mandatory FLEX requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge in subject area and effective teaching/learning strategies for all learning styles.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years professional experience related to the assignment, OR
- Associate Degree plus 6 years professional experience related to the assignment, OR
- California Community College Instructor credential appropriate to the subject, OR
- Equivalent qualification, as determined by the California State Chancellor’s Office.

- Experience addressing equity issues in the classroom.
- Culturally responsive teaching in Fire Technology relating to students’ lives, interests, communities.
- Mobility: sit or stand long periods, move about office, reach above/below desk.
- Dexterity: fine manipulation to operate keyboard, handle papers, write.
