Part‑time faculty office hours paid at $30 per hour
Not eligible for district benefit programs except Workers’ Compensation.
Scope of AssignmentThe successful candidate will join the Social Work and Human Services department, creating curriculum responsive to student needs and increasing equity and completion.
Minimum Qualifications- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology.
- Knowledge of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Sensitivity to diversity-related needs and challenges.
- Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Mobility: ability to sit or stand for extended periods, move around office, reach above/below desk.
- Dexterity: fine manipulation to operate keyboard, handle papers, write and take notes.
- Lifting: occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Visual: close vision to read files, documents, and screens; adjust focus frequently.
- Hearing/Talking: normal speech, phone, in person communication.
- Psychological: decision making, concentration, frequent contact, deadlines, time‑limited assignments.

- Competence in pedagogies focused on equity.
- Understanding of addiction, co‑occurring disorders, and related clinical practice.
- Experience with minoritized students and equity issues.
- Culturally responsive teaching in related fields.
- Knowledge of Hispanic‑Serving institution practices.
- Teach lower‑division courses and develop foundational knowledge for students.
- Advance equitable student learning through exemplary instruction.
- Inform students of course requirements, evaluation, and attendance.
- Prepare and grade assignments and exams.
- Maintain attendance and academic records per policy.
- Develop, implement, and assess student‑learning outcomes; use data for improvement.
- Engage in data inquiry and self‑assessment to promote student success and equity.
- Participate in professional development activities to fulfill mandatory FLEX requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of subject matter and teaching strategies for diverse learners.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethics standards.
