Special Needs Program Assistant

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment for an assigned special needs program; assist teachers with the preparation of instructional materials; tutor students in assigned subject areas.

Associate's degree or completion or a minimum of 48 units at an institution of higher education by attaching transcripts or Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate: proof of passing a locally approved assessment that measures the ability to assist in instruction. Examples include the CBEST, ParaPRO, or a District-administered NCLB/ESSA Paraprofessional proficiency exam. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements but require a Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate will receive an email invitation to attend a testing session with SCOE.
