Requirements / Qualifications• Two (2) years experience working with school age students
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate
• Proof of NCLB Qualification;
Completion of forty-eight (48) units of higher education study or obtained an AA degree or successfully passed the Modesto City Schools Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Assessment Exam.
• Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Or one of the following:
• Certification by the Cued Speech TEC Unit
• American Consortium of Certified Interpreters (ACCI) Level 4 or above
• Educational Sign Skills Evaluation - Interpreter Level 4 or above
• Educational Interpreter Performance Evaluation (EIPA) Level 4 or above Waiver Provisions (Under 4.0 Certification)
• Modesto City Schools will assist in applying for and acquiring an approved CDE waiver. The incumbent must continue to progress and be approved for additional waivers in order to remain in the position. Failure to obtain the required certification may result in a reassignment in a lower classification or termination.
** Hiring Incentive
** Any out of district new hire who agrees to stay for a minimum of one (1) year will be paid a $5,000 hiring incentive in the following manner: a. $2,500 to be paid within 45 days after the first day of paid contracted service. b. $1,250 to be paid within 45 days after the successful completion of the employee's probationary period (i.e., 6-months or 130 days as stated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement).
c. $1,250 to be paid within 45 days after the successful completion of one year of paid contracted service.
