Part-Time Instructor of General Agriculture

Modesto Junior College (MJC) is seeking a part-time faculty member in General Agriculture. The ideal candidate will share MJC's commitment to educating its racially and socio-economically diverse student population. MJC currently serves about 24,000 students annually, the majority of whom are from racially minoritized populations, with the following breakdown: 53.5% Hispanic, 35.1% White, 4.9% Asian, 3.4% African-American/Black, 1.4% Filipino, 0.5% Native American, 1.1% Pacific Islander, 0.2% Multiracial/Other (MJC Office of Institutional Effectiveness: https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).

The successful candidate will join the School of Agriculture, one of California's premier agricultural education programs. MJC Agriculture serves as a hub for innovation and applied learning in California's Central Valley, preparing students for local and global careers in production, education, business, and environment.

The successful candidate will join a department that continues to create curriculum responsive to student needs, increasing student completion through the implementation of strategies geared toward student equity and applied agricultural learning. Faculty within the School of Agriculture collaborate across seven program areas to provide dynamic and interdisciplinary opportunities for students.

- The Hourly Range: $78.15 to $124.94

Doctorate Range: $92.09 to $-2026 Certified Part-time Instructor/Overload Hourly Salary Schedule)
Part Time Faculty office Hours are paid at a flat rate of $30 per hour.

Scope of Assignment
- The successful candidate will join a department that continues to create curriculum responsive to student needs, increasing student completion through the implementation of strategies geared toward student equity and applied agricultural learning. Faculty within the School of Agriculture collaborate across seven program areas to provide dynamic and interdisciplinary opportunities for students.(

Note:

The seven programs include Animal Science, Plant Science, Environmental Horticulture, Agricultural Mechanics, Agribusiness, Environmental Science/Natural Resources, and Dairy Science.)

Minimum Qualifications - MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONSMaster's in agriculture, agriculture science, education with a specialization in agriculture or other agricultural area (including: agricultural business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, animal science, enology, environmental (ornamental) horticulture, equine science, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, viticulture or other agriculture science)
