Requirements:
• High school diploma, GED, or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) completion.
• Completion of 48 units of higher education studying or obtaining an AA degree, or successful passing of the Modesto City Schools Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Exam.

Education:
$17.48 per hour - Mild‑Moderate Support Needs: $18.33 per hour
- Extensive Support Needs: $20.70 per hour

CalPERS retirees cannot be in an on‑call substitute pool. Violations may require repayment of retirement benefits to PERS (see CalPERS publication 33 – Employment after retirement). To comply with PERS, retirees may not serve as active substitutes.
