Part-Time Instructor of Industrial Electronics

Modesto Junior College (MJC) is seeking a part-time faculty member in Industrial Electronics. The ideal candidate will share MJC's commitment to educating its racially and socio-economically diverse student population. MJC currently serves about 24,000 students annually, the majority of whom are from racially minoritized populations. The successful candidate will join an Industry & Trades department that continues to create curriculum responsive to student needs, increasing student completion through the implementation of strategies geared toward student equity.

The machining discipline benefits from industry-supported facilities and modernized equipment that excite regional employers about training opportunities for their workforce  ELTEC discipline emphasizes electrical technology within industrial automation, preparing students for high-demand careers in automated processing environments, particularly food and food-related industries. While foundational residential wiring is taught, the program focuses primarily on automation, PLCs, electrical systems, industrial controls, and the technologies essential to modern processing operations.

Industry partners are highly supportive of this training and are enthusiastic about new and emerging equipment being added to the program.

Salary Range / Other:
The Hourly Range: $78.15 to $124.94 Doctorate Range: $92.09 to $128.22  Certified Part-time Instructor/Overload Hourly Salary Schedule) Part Time Faculty office hours are paid at a flat rate of $40 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience, or an Associate's degree(s) and six years of professional experience. Professional experience required must be directly related to teaching assignment. Determined by California State Chancellor's Office. The District has adopted an equivalency procedure that enables consideration of applications by individuals who may not directly meet the qualifications listed above. It is the applicant's responsibility to provide proof of equivalency.
