A Taste of What You'll DoWe are seeking a Controls Technician I in Gallo's Modesto Warehouse Maintenance department to work under minimal supervision to maintain, install, and troubleshoot plant instrumentation and control systems that keep production running smoothly. Use basic programming and troubleshooting skills with PLCs, HMIs, Asset Center/RS Linx, and electrical test equipment to diagnose issues, replace failed electrical components, upload/download PLC and HMI files, and execute PLC code changes with guidance from experienced technicians.
Support operations and maintenance with cross-functional assignments, communicate status of active work, and document technical findings to help reduce downtime.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying modification opportunities, participating in cross-functional teams for capital projects and product commercialization, and supporting the development of ideas and concepts. Ensure all work complies with GMP, safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements; maintain satisfactory attendance and timeliness. When accountable for others' work, ensure team understanding and compliance with applicable standards.
We are seeking candidates who have professional experience of troubleshooting PLC's using a laptop, and are familiar with performing uploads/downloads and minor code changes. Candidates should bring a practical, safety-first mindset, strong troubleshooting instincts, and a willingness to collaborate across teams. Technical familiarity with Allen-Bradley products, HMIs, Asset Center/RS Linx, and basic electrical knowledge of industrial process controls will support success in this role.
WhatYou'll Need
- 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 1 year of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
- Required to climb stairs and ladders; required to conduct work at heights.
- Knowledgeable of Electrical Safety procedures.
- May be required to work a rotating shift/schedule (e.g., day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10) as well as weekends and overtime.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
- Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
