Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct- hire Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity.

Mechanical Design Engineer

• Design and coordinate building systems with a primary focus on mechanical (commercial kitchen ventilation and HVAC) scope.
• Collaborate with in house architectural, plumbing, and electrical teams to produce integrated design documentation.
• Create detailed construction documents, drawings, specifications.
• Perform system sizing calculations for various projects to ensure efficiency and code compliance.
• Support product and equipment selection, including requesting and reviewing vendor equipment submittals and shop drawings.
• Collaborate on the Basis of Design development and standard details for scalable and efficient deployment of projects. Conduct site analysis to evaluate existing conditions, constraints, and infrastructure readiness.
• Review and provide technical feedback on EOR (Engineer of Record) Construction Drawings and/or peer review in house produced drawing sets.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including development, construction, operations, facility management and GSM.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years focused on mechanical design in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems in commercial construction.
• Proficiency in design and construction software, including Revit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore or equivalent platforms.
• Understanding of building codes, energy efficiency standards, and construction processes.
• Ability to analyze and optimize building systems for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Experience with vendor coordination and construction administration.
• Bonus:
