Valley First Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Consumer Lending & Member Solutions to lead a broad lending and collections function spanning consumer, indirect, and real estate lending, loan services, and member solutions.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who can connect lending strategy, operational performance, risk management, and member experience. Working alongside the Chief Lending Officer, the VP will establish goals, strengthen performance, identify opportunities for growth, and ensure lending and collections practices deliver both sound financial results and meaningful value to members.
The role will oversee the full lending lifecycle, from origination and underwriting through processing, closing, servicing, and collections, while using data, technology, and tools such as nCino and AI to improve efficiency and decision-making. The VP will also shape lending products and collections strategies, manage portfolio performance, establish meaningful metrics, and ensure practices remain compliant and responsive to changing regulations and industry trends.
StrategicPriorities Lead Lending & Member Solutions
Oversee consumer, indirect, real estate, loan services, and collections operations, creating a consistent focus on performance, efficiency, compliance, and member experience.
Drive Growth with DisciplineDevelop lending and pricing strategies that balance growth, profitability, portfolio performance, and risk. Identify opportunities to generate revenue, manage expenses, and strengthen results.
Advance the CDFI MissionHelp expand access to financial services for underserved communities by developing lending and collections strategies aligned with Valley First’s CDFI objectives. Measure and communicate the economic impact of these efforts.
Strengthen Performance & Risk ManagementEstablish clear goals and measures around pull-through and conversion ratios, delinquencies, charge-offs, and recoveries. Continually evaluate underwriting criteria, policies, and practices to manage risk and mitigate losses.
Build a High-Performing TeamHire, coach, develop, and retain talented lending and member solutions professionals while creating a culture of accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Stay Ahead of Industry & Regulatory ChangeMonitor changes in legislation, regulations, industry practices, and emerging lending trends, including CECL, and translate those developments into relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
Connect Across the Organization and CommunityWork closely with leaders in retail banking, finance, marketing, payments, and technology to improve member service, coordinate resources, and advance lending initiatives. Serve as representative of the organization to help strengthen its presence in the community.
What You Bring- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Financial Management, Economics, Management, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- At least six years of experience across consumer, indirect, real estate lending, loan services, and member solutions/collections.
- At least three years of senior management experience.
- Strong track record of strategic planning, driving growth in lending and collections, and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of lending and collections regulations, risk management, and industry best practices.
