Location:

Schedule:

Monday to Friday. Requirement: RD credentials and Food Service Management Experience. Salary: $110,000 - $125,000. Other Compensation:
Bonus eligible.

Job Summary

Chartwells K12 is seeking a motivated, passionate, and experienced Director of Nutrition and Wellness (Registered Dietitian) to join the leadership team at its largest client, Duval County Public Schools. The role leads the wellness department while collaborating with operators on strengthening the culture of helping kids stay Happy & Healthy. The Director is responsible for menu development, ensuring compliance with USDA K12 nutrition guidelines and client expectations, working closely with the Executive Chef and Supply Chain to identify compliant and innovative menu items, develop new recipes, and build cycle menus that drive student participation.

They participate in senior leadership meetings, educate internal teams on food allergy and special diet protocols, conduct on‑site visits for quality control, engage with students, and assess programming opportunities. The Director interacts with and builds relationships with several stakeholders in this high‑profile, high‑volume account, including clients, principals, students, peers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Company food philosophy, sustainability commitments, and nutrition programs.
  • Develop, implement, and track effectiveness of corporate nutrition and wellness programming, considering dietary recommendations, current trends, account profiles, and client needs.
  • Lead team projects related to the growth of nutrition and health.
  • Educate internal teams on Company protocols related to risk management of food allergies and special diets.
  • Conduct site visits for quality control of the nutritional program, including nutritional standards, on‑site nutritional support, meeting with students and clients, and on‑site programming.
Qualifications
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in applicable states.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of Dietitian professional work experience; contract food service, schools, college, and business environments preferred.
  • Food Service Management experience required.
  • Knowledge and interest in hospitality and sustainability practices.
  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to plan and deliver audience‑appropriate presentations.
