Network Architect responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and securing enterprise network environments across on‑prem and cloud. The role supports core IT and operational technology (OT) systems, ensures high availability, and mentors junior team members.

LocationOnsite in Modesto, CA
Responsibilities- Design and document network architectures, strategies, standards, and upgrade roadmaps.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, and related network hardware.
- Manage NAC solutions (e.g., Clear Pass), VLANs, IP addressing, subnetting, segmentation, and routing protocols (OSPF).
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance using tools such as Solar Winds, PRTG, Wireshark.
- Implement and maintain network security controls, firewall rules, IDS/IPS, access policies, and compliance baselines.
- Support hybrid cloud networking (Azure/AWS): virtual networks, VPN gateways, site‑to‑site tunnels, and connectivity optimization.
- Maintain and administer DNS, DHCP, NTP, and other core services.
- Design and support high‑availability solutions (LACP, load balancing, redundancy protocols, spanning tree).
- Lead device patching, firmware updates, and configuration lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and OT teams; apply strong change‑management practices.
- Support and document OT network environments, ensuring secure integration with IT systems.
- Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support and guide junior network engineers through coaching, reviews, and day‑to‑day mentorship.
- Contribute to disaster recovery, redundancy planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking, IT, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years hands‑on enterprise network administration.
- Proficiency with Aruba. Cisco also acceptable, Preferred experience with Palo Alto platforms.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, 802.1Q tagging, and wireless technologies.
- Experience with firewall administration, wireless security, and hybrid cloud networking.
- Familiarity with Azure/AWS networking, VPNs, virtual networks, and connectivity best practices.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Experience with SD‑WAN, SASE, zero‑trust architectures.
- Knowledge of network automation (Ansible, Python scripting).
- Experience working with OT/industrial network environments.
- Strong mentoring, communication, and continuous‑improvement mindset.
