EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by coursework in American Sign Language or demonstrated competency in interpreting skills and two years of paid interpreting experience working in a variety of situations, including participation activities such as interpreting at conferences, and for one-on-one and classroom environments. LICENSE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
An educational interpreter shall be certified by the national RID, or equivalent; in lieu of RID certification or equivalent, an educational interpreter must have achieved a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, the ESSE-I/R, or the NAD/ACCI assessment pursuant to Title 5, Section 3051.16(b) (3) of the California Code of Regulation. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS:
The following documents are not required at the time of application but will be required of the selected applicant prior to employment:
• DOJ Fingerprint clearance
• TB clearance
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen clearance

Comments and Other Information

BENEFITS: A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day. Must be at least 18 years of age Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not assure the candidate of an interview.
