Essential Job Functions- Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in warehouse or production areas (including hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, and seatbelts when operating forklifts).
- Adhere to food quality and food safety standards as provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
- Ensure all products conform to customer specifications as outlined in the SAP system.
- Perform analysis on raw materials, finished batches, treated water, and other department-defined outlines.
- Conduct chemical and physical analysis on raw and intermediate processing materials, packaging materials, and determine their acceptability.
- Evaluate finished products against current standards by performing audits of finished product and packaging integrity.
- Check process control parameters to ensure proper equipment application and operation, including seal, closure torque, can seam checks, and other customer/company requirements.
- Stop any production that may compromise food safety and alert a member of management.
- Maintain accurate, legible records of tests and retests; complete required reports in a timely manner.
- Perform analytical tests required to qualify ingredient batches for production.
- Perform production line checks at specified intervals and ensure accurate test results by maintaining calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and report out-of-spec results to leadership.
- Complete special projects and other reasonable duties as assigned by leadership.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and SAP preferred.
- Experience with measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) preferred.
- Organized, detail-oriented, adaptable to change; high precision and accuracy in inspection and testing.
- Familiarity with SQF, SAP, Six Sigma, GMP, and related standards and regulations; understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
- Able to read and understand metric system; food or beverage laboratory experience preferred.
- Technical: skilled in maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections and tests.
- Integrity: commitment to high ethical standards in quality assurance activities.
- Adaptability: able to adapt to changing production environments and requirements.
- Communication: clear and concise communication with production staff and management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- In-plant co-packaging of alcoholic beverages requires at least 21 years old.
- Work Schedule:
Weekdays, weekends, and variable shifts including afternoon, evening, and overnight; overtime as needed. - Fast-paced production plant with moving parts; noise requiring hearing protection; temperatures may be hot or cold; laboratory is temperature controlled.
- The environment is structured and supervised.
- 0% travel anticipated.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and climbing stairs or ladders, as applicable to the role.
- Visual/Sensory and mental stress considerations: attention to detail under deadlines and quotas.
- Pay Range: $20.50 - $25.60 per hour, plus eligibility for performance-based bonuses based on company objectives.
