A rapidly growing food manufacturing organization is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager (Night Shift) to help lead plant operations at a large-scale production facility in California's Central Valley. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader who has held whole-shift, multi-department, or plant management responsibilities and is looking to take the next step into a broader operational leadership role.
This role offers significant visibility within the organization and a clear pathway for continued advancement into senior operations leadership positions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight for all night shift manufacturing operations.
- Drive performance across production, packaging, sanitation, warehousing, maintenance, and quality functions.
- Ensure production goals, safety standards, quality requirements, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
- Lead and develop supervisors and frontline leadership teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and senior leadership to optimize plant performance.
- Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Support workforce planning, employee development, succession planning, and talent retention efforts.
- Serve as the senior operational leader on nights and provide effective decision-making during off-shift hours.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within food manufacturing.
- Experience with full shift management, business unit leadership, or plant-level operational responsibility.
- Proven success leading large production teams in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety, GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
