Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Infusion

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion unit position requiring CA licensure and at least 2 years of recent oncology infusion experience.

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required
• ACLS and OCN certifications preferred
• At least 2 years of recent oncology experience required
• Prior outpatient Oncology Infusion Center experience preferred
• Busy outpatient infusion center travel experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access and management, central line and PICC line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy, blood products, and coagulation factors
• Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, extravasation, and sepsis
• Experience providing psychosocial care including patient/family education and symptom management
• Knowledge of care for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and lymphoma
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

• Work in the outpatient Infusion Center of an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population consists of oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion services
• Patient ratio of 1:8
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 8:00am to 6:30pm
• Rotating weekends required as needed
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Provide holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, care planning, and coordination of transitions of care
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective communication and optimal patient experience
• Handle hazardous drugs in accordance with NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
