The Quality Systems Supervisor supports the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Food Safety and Quality Management System at the Modesto facility. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, GFSI standards, customer expectations, and internal company procedures. The Quality Systems Supervisor works cross-functionally and provides direct oversight of quality systems activities while supporting the QA Manager.
Essential Duties- Ensures compliance with document control program, including SOP revisions and controlled records.
- Maintain and organize food safety and quality documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Support annual HACCP and Food Safety Plan reassessments and validations.
- Ability to lead Modesto facility in QA Manager’s absence.
- Supervises positive release program, including third party lab submissions.
- Support environmental monitoring and finished product testing programs.
- Manages the internal audit program.
- Leads cross functional teams in program reassessments to identify gaps and work with QA Manager to resolve.
- Maintain and generate weekly and monthly quality KPI reports.
- Participate and when necessary, lead in second- and third-party audits.
- Help develop strategies to reduce food safety and quality risk.
- Report quality HOLD inventory.
- Coordinate off-site sampling when necessary.
- Lead quality reporting meetings.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Food Microbiology, or related technical field.
- Three years’ experience working in Quality or Food Safety in a manufacturing environment (food).
- Minimum one year of experience supervising or managing a team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with good organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
