Seasonal Seed Health Lab Technician will be responsible for seed sampling, preparation, and testing of vegetable seeds. The role includes maintaining laboratory standards, preparing growth media, and assisting with seed health testing assays. The position is part of a team environment and requires strict adherence to written procedures.

• Separate and process seed samples while maintaining sub-sample identity and consistency.
• Prepare growth media, buffers, and stock solutions for microorganism culture following written procedures.
• Assist in conducting seed health testing in traditional and molecular-based assays according to work instructions.
• Plant and maintain test seedlings under controlled environmental conditions.
• Work in a laboratory governed by formal written procedures.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely, efficient, safe, and effective manner.
• Manage inventory of materials and chemical products.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory.
• Participate in monthly safety training and meetings.

• Associate degree required.
• B.S. Degree in Plant Pathology, Plant Science, or Biology preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Working knowledge of plant disease and seed health testing on vegetable seeds is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Competitive salary range: $18.50 - $23 per hour. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package.
