Meat & Seafood Operations Specialist (Save Mart Banner) - Northern California/Western Nevada area

Job Summary

The Operations Specialist leads and executes operation and merchandising initiatives across assigned districts or eCommerce platforms to increase sales, drive profitability, foster continuous productivity improvement, and enhance customer experience in alignment with Company objectives. This role collaborates with leadership including Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Center Store teams, Digital, Operations, and Merchandising leadership to develop, model, and mentor teams. The Operations Specialist provides leadership, merchandising expertise, and guidance to support the Company’s growth objectives and financial goals, delivering expert financial counsel to stores and district leadership.

The Operations Specialist supports district and store teams through programs such as succession planning, diversity, project implementation, operational performance, change management, and Associate recognition and training. The role acts as a servant‑leader for district teams, promoting open‑door two‑way communication with all store teams and fostering a collaborative environment for idea sharing to improve stores and/or eCommerce operations.

The Operations Specialist works closely with the District Manager, Store Teams, Merchandising, Central Operations, Brand, and Supply Chain teams to identify key customer-building and product solution opportunities by store, ensuring relevance to the communities served. The role drives profitability and growth within the district while coordinating with other Operations Specialists banner‑wide to achieve positive results. It monitors the marketplace, competition, consumer demands, and demographics to pivot on opportunities advantageous to the district and banner.

The role ensures adherence to legal, governmental regulations and company compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supports and develops teams within the assigned district, eCommerce platforms, fulfillment channels, and geographies
  • Executes operational, merchandising and brand initiatives related to district and/or eCommerce channels
  • Supports achievement of operating results, growth objectives, and overall customer experience while maintaining district and banner financial targets
  • Leads and encourages innovation from Associates to grow the business within the district
  • Supports achievement of key performance metrics such as customer feedback results, labor, Associate engagement, front end productivity, pick/pack operations, safety, food safety compliance, cleanliness and sanitation, asset protection
  • Works collaboratively with District Manager, Merchandising, and Brand teams to execute merchandising, brand, and store/eCommerce operations standards
  • Identifies leadership opportunities (Store Manager, ASM, Center Store Manager, Operations leadership) based on local market intelligence; provides input to banner operations for continuous improvement
  • Supports effective training and accountability around selling, services, compliance, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities and trends and provides coaching solutions within operations
  • Analyzes store results and customer feedback and collaborates with Store Managers, Banner Leadership, and Communications to develop responses and actions
  • Uses effective communication and company tools to provide timely feedback and coaching
  • Models company values and diversity initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
